How to play Quick Fire
Quick Fire is a rapid-answer party game for 2-6 players built on a single idea: do not think. Questions come fast, you answer immediately, and the answers you give without deliberating are usually the honest and funny ones. A full game runs 5-10 minutes, which makes it a good opener before something longer.
Add players and start
Two to six players. There is no setup beyond names, which is the point — it is designed to be started in seconds.
Answer immediately
Each question appears with very little time to respond. The format deliberately prevents you from constructing a careful answer.
Score as you go
Points accumulate through the round, and because the pace is fast nobody stays behind for long.
Finish and compare
Final standings appear at the end, though the answers people blurted out are usually more memorable than the scores.
Tips and strategy
- Say the first thing that comes into your head. Second thoughts are slower and almost always duller.
- It works best as a warm-up. Ten minutes of Quick Fire loosens a group up before a longer game.
- Playing in a circle where everyone can see reactions is much better than everyone staring at the screen.
- If the group is quiet, play a round with no scoring at all just to get people talking.
Frequently asked questions
- How long does a game of Quick Fire take?
- Five to ten minutes. It is deliberately short, which makes it useful as an icebreaker before a longer game.
- How many players do you need?
- Two to six. Smaller groups keep the pace high, since each player answers more often.
- Is there any preparation needed?
- None. Add names and start — the questions are built in, so nobody has to think of prompts.
- Is it suitable for all ages?
- The format is, though as with any question-based party game it is worth agreeing the tone with your group before starting.
